"... we're all lookin' at a different picture..."

- I'm alright, but other people seem sad, which is less than optimal. But Andrew [livejournal.com profile] sault only seems sad because he's in the middle of 50 hours of planned-uninterrupted consciousness.

- I think the new Powerbook is called galadriel -- other computers around here being elrond, celeborn and eowyn, and a 12" Powerbook seems both elf-like and female. It's cute and snappy and lovely (but not like lovely, [livejournal.com profile] zip4096's machine), and I set iTunes to handle Ogg Vorbis, and I'm keeping the little sheet of foam so that the keyboard won't dig into the LCD.

- I've got a list of things to do, and they're all doable. So I'm just going to go hide in the lab tonight and see how many things I can cross off. Probably at least a few, because tonight I'll have music in the lab :)

- Anything I can do for anybody? Marty, you totally get something done for you.

Thanks! Shall I give it a try‽

With this kind of knowledge, how do you restrain yourself‽

*Oh, the gleeful hedonism of interrobangs!*

Also, Alex, why do you have an ipod instead of a neuros (http://www.neurosaudio.com/)‽ They are trĂ©s delightful. They defaultly come w/ ogg support and the ability to record / broadcast music... They're really quite neat! (If one is *into* that kind of thing.)

I have no ipod, O first Kryssa of my heart -- but if I had a portable music doohickey, I'd make sure to have one that does ogg :) The neuroses look very nice indeed... have you one?

[identity profile] khrysta.livejournal.com 2005-04-06 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
No, alas, I am not bourgeois enough to have one.

Rod and Paul each have one and have allowed me to (borrow, play with) the neuros. Understandably, they delight in their ownership of them and I enjoy my fleeting moments when I can caress the smooth interface and brilliant ability to program the buttons.

Ah, yes, I see now that you only mention "iTunes" and it is true that this does not necessitate ownership of an iPod. ^_^

I got a Neuros *quite* a while ago, and although I loved it, I have had a horrible time with it. It kept dying. I sent it back, they "fixed" it, but the same problems reappeared soon. I just sent it back for the second time, and they said they're going to send me a new one, but this doesn't make up for months during which it's been useless.

Sorry to rant, really it was awesome when it worked.
