things going on. and the summer plans.

I get to dig into lisp code for Ron now, which is a gigantic hooray :) Work continues on his diagram-understander program thinget; it'll be polished up, GUIfied, and available to the public (for all your mom's diagram-processing needs) in the near future. It's always confused me why more of the programs behind research aren't open-source... science should be more transparent, computer science included.

And today I asked about getting a job at Camp ICE again this summer, and apparently I'm likely invited back :) I had a lovely time a year ago, and this time we're going to teach some middle school sessions as well as the highschool kids and the teachers. Ah, young minds...

On a much more away-from-Atlanta note, Brett [livejournal.com profile] zip4096 has emailed that there are signs around the Mountain View Google-plex that say "send us your clever friends who need something to do for the summer"...

Dude, Mountain View Google-Plex sounds sooo much like some military installation.

The summer-camp kids are going to get a Special Project wherein we build a giant mulching robot together...

1. Teach children to program and build robots
2. ... ?
3. PROFIT!
