*confused blinking*

I just spent seven and a half hours grading 2130 tests. We got them done, yay :)

I woke up today, having failed to get my squeak project put together and feeling like a complete lump because of it -- I was just sucking as a human being, considered fasting for the rest of the day (that would have been really and truly unpleasant, I think)... eventually, it was alright, and I did afternoon S&N and worked on homework, then headed off to proctor and grade ...

I think... that I'm going to go and sleep, and maybe Corey will wake me up before he goes to bed.

Revelation!

I'm pretty well convinced that this is the greatest online quiz that there's ever been, ever. [livejournal.com profile] zip4096, in the very first post he's done in about forever, brought this to my attention. Brett, you're the man :)

Ahhh...

CS2200 makes me happy :)

There are few things quite as satisfying as optimizing out that extra half-milisecond out of execution time on an assembly program written for a hypothetical computer. I'm not entirely sure why. This class is absolutely wonderful -- so much to learn, and it all makes sense, and it's completely beautiful and glorious and hard and fast and real... or at least it feels that way. It's probably all full of glossings-over and generalizations and misinformation, but ... it's such a pleasure to do stuff for this class.

This is not "well, how do personality types interact on a software development team?" or "It must be a Powerful Tool for Engineering Quality -- starts with a J!" or "See, it's cute and colorful and the code is self-documenting!" ... this is hacking on assembly code.

Yah, so I got the S&N done, and now I'm going to go and run. It's been entirely too long, and I'm looking forward to this :) :)
