the cellular telephone: nature's flashlight

- There was a place prepared for me in the Lloyd's house (it has many rooms) -- so that's where I am now. Everybody was really tired, so they're sleeping... but it's lovely to see him :) We had dinner with Janice and Janice's Brother Jonathan (he's a pretty hep cat; hadn't met him before) and the illustrious Sydelle sydelleofcourse.

- Aside from that, I've just been sort of hanging around in Tallahassee; the New Year's Eve party was great fun, and music was played (Blake and Brooks are very musical) -- and we improv'd a bit, and it was wonderful! At the beginning, Blake was playing something on the gee-tar and I was making a bassline with those chords, and then eventually he'd started finger-picking and I'd taken up playing the chords (all the while Brooks was making bongo-ing sounds) and it all fit together naturally and sounded really good... more music needs to be made. Also I saw Vanessa and Kthaw -- and then ran into them again the subsequent at the All-Night Coffee Extravaganza that is All Saints.

- I keep on saying that I'm going to get in marathon shape and then do one. I keep on panicking about school and freaking out and not running near enough. There is a Tallahassee President's Day Marathon and I'm already at a pretty good base, and I ran a lot of miles a coupla days ago and it felt pretty good, and I've got a much saner schedule this semester, and I'm just sayin' don't be surprised because I have a month and a half...

- Sudoku is exactly a graph-coloring problem. (like, so it's NP-Complete, but a 9-by-9 grid is a very small NP-Complete problem to solve :) )
