All sorts of exciting things interspersed with feelings of extreme low-content-ness... I'm back in Tallahassee (again) and probably will be for a few days... the people I'm trying to visit are dispersing again, though, so I've got to move fast!
- I distinctly remember blurting, in a discussion with Andrew
sault, "That's not an actual abstract thing, that's a metaphorical abstract thing!". If you're around in Atlanta, you should pop by the Tech bookstore (near the corner of 5th and Spring) and give Andrew a hug. (CORRECTION: Andrew will not be at the bookstore this weekend. Go visit him at the house instead.)
- Aesop Rock spits the most wonderfully bitter rhymes... the Bazooka Tooth album is pretty awesome. One particularly exciting bit, wherein he's discussing his attempts at lady...ing: "You're rushing this -- I feel smothered -- it's crowding me awfully, dolly / I love you -- get the fsck off me! Sorry. (Call me!)" (this song is sort of reminiscent of Beck's "Debra", actually...)
- Right after snagging that album, actually, I had coffee and snacks with the lovely and talented Jenn, at Javamonkey. Hooray for meeting new people :)
- There are no more tickets for Wicked at the Fox -- sold out like five months in advance. This bodes well for the continued health of broadway... I'd been a little concerned, you know, with all of these recent shows made out of old pop songs (Mamma Mia, Good Vibrations, and that one made of Billy Joel songs...) ... but I guess that's what Broadway was originally anyway, yes? *shrugs* Anyway, they sold out Wicked at the Fox, even though I rode through midtown to the box office on a little Razor scooter.
