day of ick

Was pretty sick today -- got up relatively early, meaning to get into work and get productive, but I ended up falling back to plan "B" which was mail in and say "feeling sick, WFH so I don't cough on you!". Although I ended up crashing pretty much all day. Many many hours of sleep and a few cups of coffee later, I feel better.

Tomorrow, I hope to drive to Florida -- Mom's show just went up! I think I'll bring the kitties; they could probably use an adventure. I get worried that they're bored, sometimes. But they were adorable today -- as if they knew I needed some extra care, very affectionate.

This week, I've been playing the drums a fair bit (with my midi set, and on Rock Band, and with this cool drum machine for Linux, Hydrogen). I want to learn SuperCollider and/or ChucK. Thankfully, I know where to find some tutorials and spiritual guidance ([livejournal.com profile] cola_fan) especially for the latter.

Sorry you feel bad. Get better! Eat lots of oranges.

Coffee's a mild diuretic, which might be a little problematic, coming off an illness. You might investigate whether you can find a good veggie broth powder to keep around in case this happens again. I like the Gayelord Hauser one at http://www.modernfearn.com/index_files/Page390.htm

Ooh! Kitties in the car! Did you?

You know, I froze more than half the cookie dough I made on Thursday. When you're here, we'll thaw it and bake it and have tea and cookies. And just thinking about how nice that will be should be enough to make you healthy, right?
