Let us rejoice and be glad:

- At least, people who use the lovely (but Very Slow) hackmode.org should rejoice and be glad... new server, coming up in the Very Near Future! The venerable David Cantrell was offering up a way-quick machine for way-inexpensive (it's a P4 2.4 GHz with 256 megs), and it was too good to pass up, so I didn't! I'ma just pull out the network cards and HDs from hackmode, stick them in the new box, and boot the thing up, so the downtime should be very minimal... and when it's back up, all of our websites that do CGI or PHP-ish things will be Much Quicker. So expect cool dynamic photo-albums and stuff when I upgrade. Y el marido de dramamamalama may be interested to know that this means that I'll have his site up and running Real Soon Now.

However! However! I'm still expecting Orange Dust orangedust and Modem Child to notice the downtime within 10 to 20 seconds and send IMs to Brett zip4096 asking why the world is ending... *grins*

- My Ashok's Class Project is nearly done, which is good, because it's due tomorrow.

At one point, my associate Kelsey mirabiliae had suggested that I say this ("Moi, je prefere les fromages du nord."), under some particular circumstance that I don't recall... I don't know quite why it popped into my head at that exact instant...

Alex! Just checking to see how you were and burst out laughing when I read this entry! I am so glad someone is getting use out of this uber ridiculous phrase. I have found it very helpful in a number of situations. I'm still in Rome, having a wonderful time, and I hope you are just as well! The cheese comment made my day, and I thought I'd add the Italian translation.
