Entities that are cool:

- Portishead. Portishead is so hard; they just need to tour again and come to Atlanta.
- Ashok and Jim Davies. They've been writing papers about case-based and analogical reasoning (both in people and in computers), and Jim's papers got me interested in visual analogy, which I'd previously (like up until about an hour ago) thought was less interesting than I think it is now.
- The Mac Lab with the dual-G5s and iTunes and a usb-thumb key full of Portishead, and headphones.
- Clever people in general. You know who you are.
- Having a class in five minutes! Eep!

Speaking of the Mac lab, how do you like being a Mac user now? Is the eMac working out?

The eMac is pretty nice -- I've come to appreciate OS X, and the hardware is pretty, and it all Just Works :) It's not on my desk, though -- it's in the living room and everybody likely to be around has an account...

(it just wasn't working out, sitting on the desk, with that huge CRT -- I'd need one with a flatpanel to be useful for work purposes... if I'd waited a few more months, I'd probably have a Mac Mini on a KVM...)

How're things at the WCDN Department of Super Computing?

They're good, I actually just got a Mac Mini (well, I got one when they first came out). It is cool. Other than that, nothing too exciting... oh, iPod socks are pretty awesome.
