It's been a really busy day, and I think I'm about ready to fall over. I'm fairly well pleased about the way things are going, though -- today, I went to combinatorics and practicum and health and the graduate school seminar... and ran a lab for 2130 that basically involved trying to teach the new 2130 students about how to use the RedHat machines in the lab, and went to go and run with Running Wreck...

runner's log: Went out at a bit after 5:30 with Running Wreck. They're a bunch of nice guys, very friendly, and one fellow whom I'd met a few times before and who always says "hi" to me when we pass was there. We headed out into the urban clutter that is Atlanta (going east, at first down North Ave) and ended up going ... somewhere or another. It involved heading through Little Five Points, which I found rather surprising. We went for about an hour, maybe seven miles or so. I should get a new watch. I went along with the fellow whose name I forget, the one whom I mutually say "hi" to. We and one other guy stayed a bit behind the front group for most of the way, but occasionally caught up with them...

Running through downtown Atlanta is really interesting... at one point, we were going over this bridge, and there was this absolutely glorious view of the Atlanta skyline over the edge of it, against the backdrop of the sunset. There was a guy with a tripod, taking pictures.

I was really sore, when we were done. I dropped myself off at the CoC (I think the other guys were headed back towards SAC) and de-sweated myself as best I could before the LUG meeting, which was pretty uneventful. There was a fellow at the meeting I'd not seen before, and he separated himself out from the group, sitting a bunch of rows back in the rather large lecture hall the LUG uses to meet (CoC 16, if that means anything to anybody)... when we were fielding questions towards the end of the meeting, he pipes up (hadn't said anything thus far) and somewhat timidly asks, "... how do you install Linux?" I think he needed a hug, at that point...

Ah, I'm no longer a one-man team for Squeak :) Reed (LUG president Reed) and myself have joined forces... now we just need two more to hop on our Squeakified A-Train.

Tonight... I've been dealing with scheduling difficulties, mostly involving the 2130 TA-ship and classes that want to happen at the same time. I'd considered really violently reworking my schedule, and sent a bunch of emails, and thought about it for a long time, and got mildly irked about the whole situation... but eventually, I ended up dropping Health (yay! :) :) ) and the grad school seminar ( :-\ ... eh... I can take it later) and adding in 2200. So now I am indeed signed up for the Whole Trinity. Oh yes. It works out better this way, scheduling-wise. Now I'm taking Systems and Networks (CS2200) at the same time as most of my friends, so we can go through it together and provide emotional support. Now if I can just remember how to code in Java...

Hopefully all of this won't blow up in my face. It's only 16 hours; I've done 16 hours before. It's only a CoC job. I've done a CoC job before. It's only a nervous breakdown. I've had a nervous breakdown before. *laughs* Okay, scratch that last one. It'll be fine :)

Now to collapse.
