I've been moving towards nocturnal-ness as of late. I've been writing a whole bunch of code. It's satisfying, but it's been coming closer and closer to filling my entire existence. For the past few days, I haven't hit bed until after 0600, and I did the last S&N project ... and we've been, over the past few days, doing holyfire, which is nearing completion, which is good, because it's due in ... *looks at watch* about 16.5 hours.
Interesting experiences recently have involved...
- espresso: recently, I found out that bubble tea ("Thai" flavour, whatever that's supposed to be) with a shot of espresso in it is excellent. Some night or another (days blur) I did a very, very large, black, shot-in-the-dark (coffee with extra espresso) ... we'll see what tonight brings :)
- sleep dep: This is really interesting, and has brought up all sorts of exciting psychological effects. Sometimes I'm trying to remember things, like names of people from high school, or what I was just thinking about a matter of seconds ago, and sometimes I'm finding just random words or ideas or expressions far funnier than they should be. *remembers* "Kyle and Aaron" were the fast, red-haired twins on the track team. I'm getting really scruffy, and should shave both my head and my face sometime in the near future. I've been imagining what the physiological effects on the brain must be... how's that look? I keep on having the sense that just a moment ago, I came up with something really clever -- and then can't remember it.
Mental arithmetic has been, at times, an adventure... But that's alright, because as we all know, Math Is Hard!
But on the upside, I took a nap this afternoon, and it's almost over, and we're almost done with holyfire (it's really coming along nicely -- we've all laid down some good code, but Marty's done more than ... well, more than we should've let him), and we did our final Squeak presentation today, and that went nicely, and it's almost over, and I'm going to visit Esther after finals week, which should be really cool :) Because I'll get to visit Esther, and also because I'll get to sleep, because I'll be Done. She'll have her big pile of stuff to do, and when she needs to work, then I'll just be peacefully passed out :)
