two down...
Apr. 30th, 2003 10:39 amNot too long ago, I finished up and turned in my Objects and Design final. It's really interesting ... as much as I said during the semester that this was a material-free class, I ended up writing a lot on that exam. It wasn't badly written -- the questions were mostly pretty good, actually. There was part of one question, though, where I couldn't remember what I was supposed to do, so of course I saved that one for last, hoping that it would come to me, but it didn't. So I opted to draw a picture of myself programming in the answer space. That turned out pretty well also -- I think I got the VT220 terminal (
) represented fairly recognizably, and that's the important thing.
So now I'm done with this semester's Most Interesting and Least Interesting CS Classes... two more to go: Practicum and Combinatorics. Hrmph.
Yesterday was a very relaxed sort of day. I slept until about 3pm, and at that point, we headed off to get some burritos at Moe's and some Free Ice Cream Cones at Ben & Jerry's, which was having Free Ice Cream Cone Day, of which Corey suggested we go and partake. After that, I hung around, looked at some O&D for the test today, proctored a 2130 exam, caught up on email, graded a bit... it's a very exciting life that I live.
There are some interesting people in it, though. I've realized that I'm blessed, for whatever reason, with cool people to hang around with. Sarah, who was our TA for Squeak (O&D, the class I'm no longer in, as of a few minutes ago, yay!) had commented about this, actually. Last week, when we were doing our demo for the final project, she asked if we'd been friends before working together on the project, which we had been -- she found it interesting that we still seemed to like each other pretty well after doing this project. Vampires In Space! seems to have worked out this way even more so. I just seem to have really civil, considerate, friendly homies, and sometimes have issues understanding why other people don't as well. I probably live in a happy little fantasy world.
Apparently I got into FSU -- yesterday, I found some people on the other end of their automated phone system who confirmed my suspicions that I existed in their computer system, and that I'd been accepted... they still don't think I have all of my forms in, though... but I get to register for classes the weekend right before the summer session starts, so that should be interesting. My quest not to take Tech's "health" class continues...
So for the rest of today... I suppose I'm grading and studying. Very, very exciting. Perhaps it'll involve eating something -- there goes the stomach rumbling...
