Earlier this evening, I was being cranky, and I'm not exactly sure why. I'd been feeling drained, so I took a little nap, and when I got up to drive to my dad's house, everything was just wrong -- I was snapping at people, taking simple requests as direct, personal insults, getting furious at myself when I couldn't figure out how to un-knot some knotted shoelaces... very upsetting. It was one of those moods where nothing in the world was right, but not for any particular reason...

It's odd how you tend to snap out of that sort of petty funk when merging onto the highway and almost getting hit with a semi-truck... shoelaces and a little bit of tiredness just don't matter :)

Tonight, I was finishing up this week's assignment for the Linux Kernel Class, and that seems to be working nicely :) That was really satisfying, making that work -- the assignment was to put together a device driver for a fifo that you can write stuff into and then read out... but backwards :) I ended up using a string-reversal function, which was amusing... the only issue is that it's not persistant, after you close all the copies -- if you write some data to it and then ignore the device, it loses what you wrote into it... you have to be reading and writing at the same time, essentially, or at least sitting and waiting for new data to come in, on the reading end. Perhaps I'll make it persistant, tomorrow morning... that shouldn't be too hard... hrumm... I think the more ephemeral behaviour was sort of expected, though... it's like a pipe.

*laughs* I have a feeling that not too many readers really care very deeply about this subject :) This is, however, the class I'm taking at the moment, and I think it's interesting, and you're choosing to read this journal, so ... yeah :)

On the topic of school-related things, the instructor for my weight training class turns out to be Israeli. I wasn't placing her accent, but she let this be known today... she's a pretty nice lady. I'm glad I'm taking this course :)

Ah, and ... this is really stupid. I got my body composition read today, and apparently, I've got 9.8% body fat. Which apparently counts as "slim". Amazing news. Yow. I found that amusing, for some reason -- I needed an official clinical test to tell me that I'm skinny...

*blinks* ... and I think... that I'm going to go and pass out soon.
