Coupla notes...
Aug. 9th, 2003 01:16 amIt's pretty fashionable these days to stick little chunks of AIM conversations in your livejournal.
(00:21:36) Marty: Cimmy mentioned yesterday that you tried calling her while she was listening to your voice mail.
(00:21:46) yo mismo: I did. This is the case.
(00:21:54) yo mismo: ... planned it that way, too :)
(00:22:02) Marty: I knew you had it in you.
(00:22:32) yo mismo: The base, animal urge... to call people while they're listening to voicemail!!!
(00:22:38) Marty: I've always wanted to call people while they were listening to their voice mail, but I would be all like, "No. No. It's not worth it man. You don't wanna get caught."
(00:23:04) Marty: So I would be like, "I'll do it tomorrow. Yeah!"
(00:23:12) Marty: But I never did.
Yesterday, when I was installing my new dvdrom, I noticed that in the box, there were these two little plastic packets containing CDs, both of which said on the label: "Please Install WinDVD by this disc, regardless the other one in plastic bag". I thought that was funny. Granted, I'll be using mplayer instead of WinDVD, but it was still funny.
I'm leaving in some small number of hours... to go see Corey, then Denise (
smileydee). ... and I've still got a lot of stuff to pack up. Like this computer. I thought to myself, "I'm pretty much Moving Out, here... I might not live at home for any appreciable length of time again" ... but then Marty expressed a similar sentiment, and I thought "you know what? It's not a big deal, because I've got two years left, and I live practically within hopping-on-one-foot distance from Tech". This contrasted nicely with Marty's situation.
I saw Theatre A La Carte's production of Jeckyl and Hyde tonight... mom was helping out backstage, and Brett came with me to see it. It was entertaining. Sort of a simple-minded show, but it takes itself very seriously, and TalC did an excellent job at it. The pyrotechnics were awesome -- there's a scene where the Bishop gets set on fire, and Jeckyl's lab table burns as well... beautiful :) Brett's not coming on the trip, he decided, but on the upside: a) now we've got more space for Marty's stuff in the car, and more importantly, b) Brett's now got more time to work in his driver and get it submitted to the V4L people and thereby take that one more step towards demigodhood and get his name in the kernel :)
Ehh... I think that's that. I'm going to take apart the computer now, but I'll probably leave the laptop up on the wireless, so you can likely aim me for a while, if you're going to try to aim me.
