Corey: "To take out people's eyes, you use this!" *holds up a mellon baller*
Shannon (holding up a spoon): "No, that's too perfectly shaped. This would hurt more."

I haven't posted in a while. You know what I've been doing? I've been going to classes. I ran a few times, but not as much as I should. I switched my Spanish class around -- no more Translation, but now I've got the rather More Interesting Hispanic Drama Workshop, with Dra. Galloway. I went to help Cimmy (and her friend Kevin, of whom I approve -- he's fuzzy and CS and looks much older than he is, which is Younger, and he's got a healthy Urge to Prank) move her stuff from one side of Erskine to another. I've been told about the Horrible Funding Issues in Education and found out that our TA staff is much smaller than we would like it to be... and then found out that we got at least a few more guys on the job than we thought we'd have to work with, which is good.

I spent most of the weekend with Cimmy, yay :)

It's not a bad drive, Atlanta to Anderson (although Due West is a poke farther than Anderson), and there's this absolutely glorious radio station that you can pick up along the way (101.9 WAZX) that does Mexican music, which has made me laugh out loud because of the awesomeness on several occasions. You really can't beat songs about how "el castillo de mis sueños ha caido ya" (the castle of my dreams has already fallen) and how The Girl coming into The Guy's life was like the last note of a tender song ... with the bassline provided by a marching-band style tuba and the beat kept by a guy crashing symbols together on the quarter notes. Words fail. They really do.

... so we spent the weekend 'round these parts, and we went out to Intermezzo (which is Reliably Cool) and up to that revolving restaurant at the top of the Westin, which was a lot more fun in the abstract than it was in practice... but that's something we can scratch off the List Of Things, I suppose. More interestingly, we walked 'round on Peachtree Street and looked at the odd furniture stores and art supplies and took pictures of The Cows.

Cimmy is Really Interesting. We're not a whole lot alike. She thinks most of the things I choose to eat are pretty well disgusting. She's not particularly fond of computers. She's nearly apolitical. She's much more serious, and sillier, and happier, and sadder, and softer and more garrulous. I approve, heartily, and she's a lot of fun to have around -- yay Cimmy :)

We headed back to SC this afternoon (and then I drove back to ATL), and since, I've been hanging around and organizing stuff and talking to the parental units and reading. Very exciting.

Alex walks into the weight room.

Christian: "Alex! What're you doing here?"
Alex: "Lifting!"
Christian (laughing and gesturing): "The CoC's over there!"

Christian's great :)

... and, the very last thing in the fridge is my soylatte.

This implies two things.

1) It's about time to hit the grocery store.
2) Nobody else in the apartment has had an urge to drink coffee-flavoured soymilk, for some reason I cannot yet fathom.

SGA is renting out Six Flags for Tech People the night of The Party.

Anybody interested? How do we feel about this? Apparently it's $10 for enrolled Techies, $20 for Erskine students. And the park will be mostly empty :)
