Birthday Post-aroo!
Sep. 2nd, 2003 03:35 amI like birthdays :) I like needless holidays, completely unnecessary little hiccups in the flow of everyday life. If I ever find myself elected to congress (my campaign starts when I'm legal to be elected, four years from now), then I'll vote for all of the "National X Day" bills.
On that note, as Mr. Will Clarke (
the_itch) has recently pointed out, International Talk Like A Pirate Day is coming up soon.
Apparently, Salvador Dalí would wake up in the morning and think to himself, "I am Salvador Dalí. What is Salvador Dalí going to do today?" I want to have that feeling when I'm getting up in the morning. Birthdays are like that.
Although, you know what I did in the morning today? I slept. Until almost noon. But that was alright, because my birthday started last night, in Anderson, South Carolina.
I'd popped out to visit Cimmy, and we ate dinner and hung out with some of her friends and ended up being in a Wal-Mart looking at home furnishings and electronics and trying to buy alcohol at midnight... but you know what? You can't buy alcohol in South Carolina from midnight on Saturday night to 0700 hours on Monday morning. Isn't that bizarre?
... so when I returned to Atlanta, where you can buy alcohol whenever you darn well please, we did a b33r run... and Kroger is an exciting place indeed at 0300.
So today... I've been working on homework and talking to loved ones and running out to Piedmont Park, which was lovely...
For dinner, we ate at Top Spice, which was absolutely amazing Thai food. I got a Mango Tofu, which was very nearly uncomfortably spicy (just right -- made my eyes water) -- tasty veggies and mangos and fried tofu, all served in carved-out mango halves. I'm going back.
A One that is not cold is scarcely a One at all.. There's Guinness in the fridge, and I managed to drink about a quarter of a 12-oz bottle before I decided I was done for the moment. I think I like Guinness more than other beers I've tasted... which I don't like a whole lot. I think the point of the b33r run was the run, more than the b33r. Pop on by and have one, if you're in the area. They'll likely be in the fridge for a while.
Hrmm... probstat test tomorrow. I'm excited. I'm also ready for it :)
