I'm feeling much better :)

You might've noticed that I was feelin' low for a few days, there. It happens, every so often. But what's super-cool, is that I have the very most wonderful friends, and when this happens... well, it's generally not too long before you guys get me straightened out -- although I've been noticing a general malaise around these parts, recently... but thank you, everybody...

Aside from really helpful chats and words of reassurance, there's really not much better than just sitting down and getting work done whilst hiding in a less-used lab in the CoC for a while, or just being out running on a nice day, or making your legs Very Sore at kung fu class (this month, we're focusing on conditioning, so we spent a lot of time doing plyometrics and working from Bow Stance, which hurts, but will soon result in me being Tremendously Dangerous!!, clearly), or pulling out the 'bone and rocking out with NIN songs like you just don't care...

I was talking to Kurt this afternoon, and I asked him where you'd go to gradschool if you were interested in NLU, and he listed off a number of places, including Johns Hopkins and University of Edinburgh (what's that? gradschool in Scotland?) and MIT and a few others, and then he said, "Wait, just a second -- why don't you go and sign up for this summer program at Johns Hopkins? ... so I did, and I'm pumped up about that. *grins* Maybe they'll even accept me. They wanted to know my SAT scores (which I'd forgotten), so this involved a few phonecalls and a quick skate over to the registrar's office, where they were really helpful and looked it up for me, even...

Hrm. So yes. I feel better. Pardon for being moody and aggravating over the past coupla days. Resume normal-ish behaviour for the Rudnick.

Ah! Ah! And Mel [livejournal.com profile] delamancha showed me happy pictures of penguins, which her friend Sue (who apparently works in Antarctica) took, and I made this icon out of one of them. Mel and Sue? Thank you.
