So Will [livejournal.com profile] rw_conspiracy was saying that technology rocks so hard, and he was entirely right.

You know what else rocks hard? Using technology to find out about a band that you'd never ever heard of before, snagging their album, and then listening to it and enjoying... such that I'm likely to seek them out in the future! Exactly. So I was browsing the blues section on SuprNova, and I found this band called The Black Coffee Blues Band... so obviously I had to go download their album. torrent here. Man, bittorrent is like the best thing that ever happened.

Also, I've been working on stuff. And I went running this afternoon, which was good :) Haven't done that for a while...

I saw the sunrise today. I was zipping across the campus in the cool of the morning, with the lovely half-light...

I was headed towards Skiles, which is where my math instructor's office is, with a mind to turn in my combinatorics homework... and it was a pretty easy assignment.

But I had decided that I didn't want to do most of it manually, because it was busywork-ish. So I'd ended up automating big chunks of it. And this involved writing fairly general-purpose graph-manipulation code, as everybody knew it would... and I was up until the early morn, getting it done, as everybody knew I would be.

But you know what I got out of it?
- theoretically reusable code and the experience of writing it
- the sunshine, and the lovely cool of the morning
- probably more practice with graphs than I would've got otherwise
- the sound of the doors in Skiles clacking open at exactly 7am. KER-CLACK!
- victory points in my own mind

So some time in October, I stopped shaving my head, because it was getting cold outside. But soon, it'll be genuinely hot out again... but I think I'm making the Enormous Jew 'Fro thing work, at least on an aesthetic level. Whaddaallayousethink?
