So I'm back from Lake Tahoe -- I don't think I mentioned to too many people that I was going there in the first place, but that's where I went. It was the annual "every male person that my dad knows within two degrees of separation" trip, very exciting :)
The skiing was lovely -- the snow was all fluffy from recent snow-dumpings, and I had these little 1m skis (skis are normally more like 1.7 or 1.8m) which felt a bit like rollerblades on the snow, and they were great for navigating moguls -- I just popped down the bumpy hills like it 'twern't nothin'.
I spoke with all sorts of interesting people along the way and had adventures both getting there and getting back -- I was supposed to meet a particular friend of my dad's and ride to the hotel with him in his limo... but his flight was cancelled and the other fellow we were supposed to meet didn't get there for a really long time, so I spoke with the driver, who's had this really interesting life involving breakdancing in highschool (if you happen to know The Floor Executioners, that was his crew, back in the 80s), various business ventures involving limousine companies and telecommunications, and a wife and five kids. Also, in the airport, there was a girl (not my sister) with an enormous blingful "NATALIE" belt buckle. And another one who was carrying on carrying her racquetball racquet as a carry-on.
People are really interesting. I should be sleeping or working or something. Likely sleeping...
