zip4096 and the Real Alan and Brett's friend Christin (whom I'd not met before, but she's fun and nice and a WVFS DJ) went and saw the show, and it was sometimes rhythmically strange, sometimes fairly quiet, sometimes very dancey, and sometimes thunderously bassful. And there were a few DJs who weren't Autechre, and they were cool too. And I like Variety Playhouse. Yay for Brett and friends coming to visit, and for hanging out with The Real Alan! :)
- Also: today I assembled the dresser (looks like a filing cabinet) and got the big new monitor working (with opensource dri drivers and stuff, so no proprietary ATI crapful ones...). And became an official state worker again. And all the people said, "Get money!" And my monitor is like really big. And really pretty. Yay :)
- We'll see what happens when I check out the Zen center nearby: Atlanta Soto Zen Center looks interesting, I think. It probably won't come to much, but I need to do more non-Tech-related things. And they have Dharma Combat this upcoming Sunday, which is just ridiculously cool. I mean, come on. It's Dharma Combat.
