You never know when it's the end of the world. And it's even hard to tell when you're dreaming, sometimes...

So in my dream, I was with a big group of people, like a small city's worth, and we all remembered, I think, suddenly waking up in our city after everything had suddenly gone black some indeterminate time ago. And I was really uneasy about it; something seemed different, or at least we had no idea how long it had been since we all blacked out. And that's the biggest feeling in this dream, this huge uncertainty...

... they all knew me, in my dream -- but I couldn't remember my name. And I said to somebody near me, "I bet that thing aren't normal again -- I expect we're in a pocket universe." And he agreed. And throughout all of this, somebody was going through a large building in our city (it looked like one of my dad's friends from real life) with a gun, and everybody was freaked out -- only, of course, because it was a dream, I could fly. You'd think I'd realize that I'm dreaming -- I can always fly in my dreams.

Right. And everybody was sitting around on picnic tables underneath this bright blue sky (it was always a bright, blank blue sky -- like we were on the shoreline of the abyss of whatever's out there...), and I had been reading a story about the end of the world, which had been somehow encoded in the burrito that I was eating, and in the story, when everything shuts down, you don't know what's happening at the time and everything just suddenly stops and goes black -- like the first time everything went black, only it's final. And then, in my dream, it did just that. And I thought I was dead, or about to die, and at the time, I felt ready for it. Just this tremendous blackness. You never know when your universe is going to shut down.

But turns out that you don't always die when you die in your dream, apparently. I'm still a bit freaked out.
