So Martin
samarin and I were out and about tonight, and we found ourselves at Lenny's, which gave us the unexpected opportunity to see... "Royal Thunder". They have this really interesting sound -- all instrumental, sort of ambient and rolling and surf-rock, but with lots of shifts in tempo and signature... there was one bit that sounded like it was in 5/4, and they did a lot of stuff in waltz-time...
I really enjoyed their performance, and spoke with the drummer after their set. He said they're looking for a vocalist, and that this was their very first show. There weren't many more than a dozen people milling around, but everybody seemed to enjoy it. May they go places.

yourusername (Brett's dad) presents you with this math problem. In his knapsack, Dan has ten prepackaged meals. While he's out hiking, he will eat two each day, for five days. At each meal, he reaches in and grabs one at random. He'll eat whatever he pulls out, as long as it's not the same as the one he ate previously, or he's otherwise out of meals. In the knapsack are two meals each of types A, B, C, and D, and one unique meal of each, types E and F. What's the probability that for the tenth meal, he has to eat the same thing he had for the ninth?
