Also: Martinsamarin and his LTT! improv compatriots were hi-larious in their comedic stylings, which addressed such pertinent topics as Fanta, angry letters from customers, toothpicks, pancakes, bras and the burning thereof, structural integrity, militant draft-dodging, subverting the patriarchy, horrible facial scalding, and true love.
Saturday night, Rob and Graham and Bill and Paul (poodleface, cola_fan, billings, lazy_q respectively) rocked out really hard for the SOPO benefit concert, as Poodleface and the No-Kill Shelter. And there was an improvisational pseudo-country jug-noise hobocore band before them, which only one of me and Laura laurapatt enjoyed. Random pots and pans and percussion instruments were thrown around, and a violin was abused.
Capoeira classes for the win! My back is tremendously sore -- I haven't moved that way in a while. Laura picked it right up, but we haven't faced down in the roda yet. Grupo Macuele meets at the Eagle Claw Kung Fu Center, right across from my house. Monday and Friday nights, 9pm. Saturday afternoons, 4pm. I'll be there again tonight; we'll see if I can move.
