"You are likely to be eaten by a grue."
May. 7th, 2007 11:42 pmSo Miriam and I went to go see MC Frontalot -- his live show is lovely, the new songs are rockin' and topical (if you spend a lot of time thinking about blogs, Infocom games, encryption and politics: I am his target audience)... and my ears are still ringing a little bit from the opening band, Attractive Eighties Women. They're dudes, but fairly dapper fellows. Entertaining show, yay hooray :)
And El-P is still coming next month!
Until the camp starts, I'm in this weird state where I'm still hanging out at the TSRB, helping with research projects. I expect this will keep up 'til I actually start at Google and don't have the time to be physically present in the TSRB. The Learning By Design group, whom I worked with my first year of gradschool, still doesn't have anybody who knows a lick about Linux, which is really unfortunate because they need stuff set up on their pair of Gentoo servers from time to time, like today. It brings into focus how server admin stuff is way harder than it needs to be, particularly on Gentoo. I may have made a poor choice, two years ago...
I've constructed a word for my current state, by analogy with "postdoc", but I'm a little reluctant to use it because it collides with another word. "Postmaster".
