Aug. 5th, 2009 04:38 pmPosting from the Scholars Bakehouse, on the OLPC -- we get the inter-tube plumbing at our house tomorrow morning, and I cleverly broke X on my other laptop.
We've been in the new place for a week now, and most of our time has gone into setting things up. But we've gone running, written some code, and played music -- loudly, in the basement! It is awesome. Oh, and we've been hanging out with Lindsey's CS department friends. Monday night was Beer 'n' Algorithms, which features alcohol and a talk about an algorithm -- two excellent words from the Arabic!
Oh, and I signed up for classes! Right now, I've got two NLP classes and "statistical methods", although one of the NLP classes is in the Linguistics department, and I might totally switch things up after orientation anyway. Still no word on my TA assignment. One possible outcome is Intro AI, which would be really pleasing.
So, yeah! Things are going well. There will be less internet silence from me after tomorrow morning; chat me up, I likely miss you.
