languages I've heard today
Jun. 11th, 2010 12:10 am- English, of course.
- German (on the subway).
- Lots of Spanish -- with really good code-switching to English! (also on the subway)
- Hebrew (guy singing in the subway station)
- Interesting Slavic-sounding language that I couldn't place, walking down 8th avenue
... I don't think I heard any Chinese today. That I can recall. (although I usually do) And some of my office-mates occasionally switch to, I think, Polish. I think.
I also heard the International Language of Song And Dance, because my mother and sister and I went to see Hair! The show was really interesting -- the historical context for a rock-musical about hippies with is so different now than when it went up in 1967. (btws, that was more than 40 years ago)
Also this afternoon we got to see some neat digital artwork. There wasn't any procedurally generated text going on, though... I need to get on it. I've been getting my fix of procedural poetry from the lovely Gnoetry Daily blog, and so can you.
