such a wonderful week
Dec. 28th, 2010 01:28 amRight now, we're in Atlanta; we've had a really lovely day of hanging out with friends!
On our way back to Atlanta, from Tallahassee, we found out that Brett was hanging out with his family at a friend's house in Macon (!!), so we stopped along the way and visited with them for a few hours. Brett's dad, Dan, told us wild stories about the old mainframe he used to work on. It was really great to catch up with the Thompsons; I hadn't seen Laura, Brett's mom, for a few years.
Today, we spent the afternoon with Rob![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
poodleface -- he took us to this awesome Korean Taqueria, and it was super-delicious. His house is (still) full of crazy electronic musical equipment -- apparently he recently played a show where he used a Rock Band guitar as a midi controller!
After a quick run in Piedmont Park, we had dinner with Mark and Lisa and JD. Lisa told us about her recent business trip to India, which was cool! Then we all wandered over to the annual 3DX party, hosted by Strick -- I hadn't seen Seanschizobovine for quite some time, and we had a bunch of good conversations with Atlanta- and psiu people. Corey varineb wasn't there -- apparently he got snowed in, in Virginia, and couldn't make it.
We'll have breakfast with Emily and John, then head up to Bloomington after that.
(it was super-relaxing to hang out in Tallahassee for a while, too. Lots of sleep, kind of a lot of running, and lots of time to hang out with the family and pet the doggies. good times!)
