Kind of lonely. LJ feels empty these days. Bleak, unstable. I mean, it keeps going down. I could move over to dreamwidth? (moreover: most of the people I would've LJ'd with back in 2004 have simply moved on. (the solution is... what, facebook? getting better at organizing things in realspace with real-life friends?))
I feel like I need some better means of self-expression, but my feelings are not particularly exciting or novel. I suspect that people might be having more vivid experiences than others. A younger friend of mine told a story wherein she babysat a friend who was dealing with disappointment by getting wasted. Took care of her for hours. I think on some level I could use a good cry on somebody's shoulder, but it's barely my job to provide shoulders: it's my job to look stable and try to cheer people up through seeming energetic.
There's a hell of a lot of work to do. I'll be in Mountain View pretty soon.
