And now for something... okay, fairly familiar.

- Eric Fensler must have gotten through his legal troubles with Hasbro (unpleasant itching and minor inconveniences upon their legal department!) because the Fensler Films site has the well-known G.I. Joe PSAs back up. He's done quite a lot of other work as well, some of it more commercial.

- "You cannot harm me! ... I'll hit you with your own pimp!" Another original dance! (warning: fairly salty lyrics, funky-fly dancing, derivative works from derivative works from cartoons)

I just spent the first half of hour my day watching crack-dat videos. Who knew there were that many folks out there trying to make a new dance?

I think we're seeing a deeper trend building -- it's like a democratization of dance-production! Beforehand, you could only make a new widely-disseminated dance if you had a big record company pushing your dance-instructions-song... now anybody with a computer can make a phat beat, come up with some lyrics with deft pop-culture references, and shoot a video of somebody doing a dance! And a lot of it is going to be crap (so it goes; it's going to be a high-volume thing) -- but here and again, we'll get something awesome.

This is to say: I think we could make up a new dance too. "Crank Dat de Saussure".

"I be dat linguist from Geneva
my books, I know you seen 'em
I theorize to get cash
the ladies love the mustache

chorus:
Crank dat Ferdinand (what!)
Crank dat Ferdinand (heyyy!)
Crank dat Ferdinand (what!)
Crank dat Ferdinand de Saussure ..."
