- I almost recorded and posted a version of this very song... I probably will, pretty soon.

- The conflict among my drive-to-record-thoughts and my drive-not-to-bore-or-annoy and my drive-to-communicate in the context of blogging... is very strange. For example, I'm not entirely sure how much I want to write about Friday night, and how there's a particular young lady I'd been eyeing (who works at a particular coffee cart in a particular college of computing), who, confusingly, is either reciprocally interested or not, just in that she invited me to go see Importance of Being Earnest and then proceeded not to show up, but then appologized profusely (over AIM, whilst I wasn't around), but then hasn't spoken with me since. In the aftermath, I got slightly angry, popped home just before the play started with the intention of getting some work done, and ended up hanging out with Yael [livejournal.com profile] yaello for the evening instead. Can't go wrong there :)

- On Thursday, I outran a golf-cart up the Freshman Hill. While carrying a cooler full of popsicles and a backpack. pwn3d!!

- So I made this thing... and it spits randomized text based on words that you feed it (the Markov chain doohickey mentioned last entry -- source here -- just go gcc *.c then run it with a sample text file as an argument), and I'm terribly pleased and over-proud, and I'm going to make it into a web version so that you guys can all play with it and make nonsensical versions of your favourite web pages. This thing is actually related to class... granted, we're using a bit of creativity to make our webserver project a bit more awesome, but... y'know.

- Also on the geeky front, I rebuilt elrond, now with a very nice Antec case. That was a totally random impulse buy. I have no idea why I did that. I think I said "well, it'll be quieter, and I'll be able to sleep better". Many thanks to Richard for help when particular screws got stripped and I almost destroyed the mobo...

- I should find something productive to do, because Literally Everything is due on Wednesday... and I should get some more caffeine and go play outside or something.

I've cured the conflict of wanting to speak my mind vs. not wanting to bore people by issuing disclaimers. If people keep reading, it's their fault if they get bored. Lj-cuts (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75) also work wonders. Myself, I don't mind reading just about anything my friends put on their journals. I've got a morbid curiosity concerning people's lives [0], and whether you consider it boring or whiny, I'm interested [1].

I shall have to show you my glowy case when you get over here. Rincewind is quite a happy little machine. ^-^ [2]

Also, I sympathize with the "Everything Due on Wednesday" since it's pretty much the same for me. I may not be forthcoming with HCI help unless you guys ask since I have so much other stuff to do. But I will try to give it my best.

[0] There's a PhD thesis in psychology waiting to be written about modern society's voyeuristic obsession with other people's lives. Some people watch Survivor; I talk to people and read LJ's.

[1] Primarily because I consider you a friend.

[2] You can kill me later for using anime smilies.

I think I may break down my previous egalitarian "well, either I'm going to say it in front of everybody or just keep it to myself" standpoint and set up some filters or something...

Your setup, as a whole, is lovely. And thanks for being around and friendful and whatnot :) I'm honored, really... and especially with the Slate around next semester, you're going to have a hard time keeping me out of your house, annoying you guys :)

Your comment is terribly cryptic, but yes :) Thanks for showing up. I was probably going to be minorly angsty, otherwise... as O-tekku used to say, "There's Always Time To Study Later".
