I'm still not used to the nights here.

It's bright out tonight -- Atlanta sounds the horn of light pollution out into the infinite, silent, uncaring abyss ... or at least there are a lot of buildings and a lot of street lamps that put out a lot of light. The shadows are sharp-edged, though... it's not like sunlight, which is sort of ambiently everywhere... and a stray raindrop splattered against my face, and the clouds were white, and the winds were whushing past...

Leaves look really cool in streetlights.

And that's all. Now it's time for bed.

I have flattened myself against the porch to watch the wind twirl the trees like tops. I sat in the bright, sun-painted regions of grass and sighed into the wind. Green plastic with a wood grain impression. The chair, that is.

Atlanta is purple at night, don't you think?

I was just thinking that purple-pink was exactly how I'd describe it.

It's always strange looking out at the Atlanta purple-pink haze in the middle of the night, wondering where it all comes from and why some nights the midnight haze is defined while others, it seems almost as if you could be out in the country...

Atlanta always seems encased in formaldehyde at night.
