"... tell a friend..."

- I'm back in Tallahassee. All sorts of interesting things to do between now and a month from now... current plans involve hanging out with people, reading, running, translating, lifting...
- We (Marty
samarin, Sean
schizobovine and psiu Tom and I) took the GRE in the morning, after an early-morning trip to the Disco Diner. Everybody likes the Disco Diner. The test went pretty well, although some of the theory questions were tough. And by tough, I mean "I didn't know the answer". But mostly, it was good.
(Also: during the official Standardized Test Instructions-Reading Ritiual, one of the test-proctor ladies was reading instructions, and the other one was handing out some forms, and some of the form-reciptient folks had stood up to get their forms... and the instruction-reading lady summarily freaked out and exclaimed "Sit down!! Sit down!!" and twitched a lot. It was quite odd.)
- There is at least one free 'net access kiosk in at least one gas station in the middle of Georgia.
- Research Scott ("Biscotti") and I got this bizarre wild hare, and we decided that the system ("Casebook") we've been working on sucks, and that we want to rebuild it from scratch because it's clunky and huge and made of Java. And it's got no business being an enormous Java webapp. We're thinking PHP and Common LISP. And better programming practices, and less Suck. Also, we've decided that we want more love and attention from Ashwin. We'll have to discuss this with him sooner or later...
- Still needlessly cheerful and full of hope for the future. I need to work on that, I think.

Date: 2004-12-12 10:07 pm (UTC)Sadly, we don't even have VisualSuck++, so we're going to ditch the Suck aspect of the project altogether...
