- Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is quite good. I couldn't get into it the first time I tried to read it, but a few years later, s'lovely.
- I got the very flattest turning-down-a-request-for-going-out that I'd ever received, yesterday. I was impressed at the starkness of the message: No. And then slightly depressed for a moment. But you get over these things. And we have DSL. Bam. Also, despite my slight disdain for Java, jdbc is pretty cool.

i also have a slight disdain for java, in the sense that i'd prefer to drop the bomb on SUNW. but only a few megatons, nothing big.
