alexr_rwx- Say there, husband of the year, why are you sitting around and thinking about all of the tiny indignities and injustices you've suffered at the hands of friends and random strangers, all of the inane things you've said and espoused and believed (like in highschool, remember?) and forgotten, all of your brilliant plans washed away in the flood of your inertia, and the utter, bald absurdity that is your life... when you could be sitting around downloading the new and eponymous I, Cactus album? - The deep problem (like, why we're neurotic as a species) is probably agriculture. We have this tremendous capacity for physical exertion and pattern-matching and thinking and awareness, and we don't use it, at least not to run around looking for nuts and berries and small woodland creatures to eat while subconsciously analyzing lichen on nearby rocks. The slightly less-deep problem is probably that we can't talk to each other, most especially not parents with their children. Many of us feel so isolated from the parentals, can't relate at all, can't discuss, feel the need to hide because we're backed into a learned corner of They Don't Understand -- and when you can't discuss with somebody reasonably, they practically cease to be a real person. Empirical studies show this to be problematic.
- However: while most web development is the epitome of shadiness, javascript is actually much less disgusting than people normally think of it. DOM is kinda cool. Timneuroticmonk, for your Grand Plan For Fixing The Web, you should look into and think about DOM. Maybe that's what your thing will spit, in th' intermediate.
- XML could be replaced with balanced parens, and it would be cleaner. Lisp folks have known this for years.
- Also However: tomorrow, I get to teach campers again. Hooray :)
