It's been an interesting day... during the course of it, I've gone from feeling like an absolute lump, completely worthless, to Getting Stuff Done and having a generally pleasant feeling about life.

Last night, when I had managed to screw myself up pretty well emotionally, I'd been planning on staying up late and doing combo and S&N... well, I did neither of those, just opted to go to sleep and get up early to do at least the combo. Heh... today I slept in, didn't even go to the class that I was supposed to get up early and do homework for. Felt like crap. Eventually, that fixed, though... I got up, talked with Esther (generally a happifying thing, really :) ) whilst eating a pre-practicum brunch, then headed off to do practicum and run a 2130 lab. That's a really strange thing, running a 2130 lab... it's about making judgement calls in the gray areas of the rules.

I ran with Wreck again this afternoon, which was quite an experience... I'd thought that today, I'd be able to make it all the way at full speed, keep with the front group... and I almost did it. Nearly. We were going out through Piedmont Park and out around the neighborhoods on its east side. There weren't too many guys out today. For most of the run, the front group was Andrew (he was in that British History class I had last semester, and he's Catholic, and really fast), myself, and one other fellow, who might be called "Rockett" (still learning names). Anyway, I stayed with them for the majority of the run, although at one point, they got ahead going up this long hill, and I dropped back about a block, but I could still see them and hadn't given up hope of catching up... but then they got through a long traffic light that I didn't, and after that, I was toast. One other fellow whose name I don't recall and myself took it in back towards Tech, and I dropped myself off at the CoC, as it was nearly time for the LUG meeting at that point -- and it was raining fairly hard for most of the run, and I was looking rather like a wet dog. I dried myself off as best I could in the restroom, then listened to David C. talk about building Linux distros for a while... he's the man (and he used to work for Slackware, so he definitely knows what he's doing... I'm just honored to be in the same LUG as him). Ah, and Phil and Jennifer were there... she's not normally a LUG-ite. It's fairly likely that I'll be seeing them this weekend, I suppose...

... and for tonight, I've been chatting with Esther some more (yay :) -- she's coming... tomorrow, as of now :) ) and doing the S&N project. It's pretty much done at this point... that was really satisfying, actually. Nearly everybody I've talked to has enjoyed this... quite a well-designed project. This class is probably the best-run one I'm taking currently. Somehow it seems... a bit less ad-hoc, a bit less arbitrary.

Hrm, so now I could sleep, or I could work on some Squeak, or I could print out the thing I need to turn in tomorrow for S&N. I think... that now I'll sleep, and then get up at 7, hit Woody's, get breakfast and some caffeine, and spend some time messing with Squeak before the quiz. Then after Squeak I'll print out my thing. That's what I'll do.
