Back to the real world...
Feb. 17th, 2003 09:45 amEsther's now at the airport, hopefully on her plane and getting buckled up.
... and now I'm back to my normal daily existence, which, for the general case, doesn't physically involve her. Things flop around a bit when she's around... it's not unwelcome, it's just very different from how my life generally goes. I actually use the car. We go places. I'm not in the room terribly much. We tend to hang out with Jennifer and Phil a lot more than I would, on my own. My associates wonder where I went for the weekend :) *shrugs*
This was a really excellent Valentine's Day weekend... it's a horrible, barbarous Hallmark holiday and cultural institution, poisonous and vile, an affront to single people everywhere, hyped and propagated to sell greeting cards and chocolate. This is the first time I've been with somebody on 14 Feb... and it feels... absolutely glorious. We ate tapas and Israeli food, we played racquetball, drove around trying to find the 15 Feb peace rally in Atlanta (didn't work out -- Atlanta isn't built with easy navigation in mind), we found a big heart-shaped box of Godiva chocolate for Practically Free (on Saturday), we went to a midnight showing of "Daredevil" (excellent -- very well done, as far as comic book movies go :) ) ... and hung around and talked about stuff. Couldn't ask for a nicer weekend, except possibly one that involves better navigation on my part. It's amazing how well she deals with my want for orienteering skills...
That got rather more upsetting when Phil and Jennifer were around, trying to get places... I might have to yammer about that for a bit. But first I should head off to class.
Ah, the race... was pretty slow for me. I went out too quick, and I hadn't been feeling well, and I died. Ah well. I'll chalk it up to being sick-ish. Off to Combinatorics...
