I'm still around -- haven't posted for a while, which was partially because I was out of town this weekend. Apparently, I'd neglected to tell you (my adoring public) that I was headed to NYC this past weekend. Well, after the fact, this weekend, I went to NYC with my father, his girlfriend, and my grandmother. It was cool. We saw some shows and Huge Buildings and Central Park and whatnot.

I was taking notes while I was there. I journalled pretty extensively. I'm just not going to post all of that hullaballoo at this particular instant -- it needs editing and reviews of the shows and records of more of the events and to be cut up into a few lj-cuts, actually...

So I'm back in town, and I'm about to go for a walk. Very exciting :)

Peace out, kiznids!!!

Dream log

I had a really vivid dream this morning... I think there was more to it, and I wanted to remember, and lingered in bed for a while so as to do so, but this was the only part of it that stuck with me.

So I was myself, and my mother was around, and for some reason or another, there was this disembodied or severed head, which may or may not have ever been attached to anybody, but it was sort of... self-sufficient. It wasn't fully awake, but it was sort of half-alive, or magical. It was a woman's head, Asian, with thick white makeup (but reddish undertones, like it had blood flowing on the inside), maybe like a kabuki mask or geisha makeup, and broad-ish features. And mother was charged with figuring out what to do with it, and I had the very clear impression that this was in order to Save The World, which for some reason depended on her figuring out what the deal was with this head, or at least doing the Right Thing with it. There was a sense of ... sort of semi-urgency, like "we'd better start figuring this out", more than "doom is iminent!"

And she very rationally decides to set it on a table in the house, one that we would often pass by, and puts a sheet of paper with a pen next to the head, so if you pass by, look at this disembodied head (which rested on its neck, sort of like a bust or a styrofoam wig-stand-head) and have an idea as to what to do with it, you'd write it down. She wanted me to help with the Figuring-Out, I think. At one point, she had picked it up, and she almost drops it, then bobbles and recovers. It very vividly sort of half-bled at that point... I remember, particularly along the undersides of the head, around the neck, it was bleeding. I remember also having the sense that the head was ... at least passively aware that time was gradually running out...

That one's a bit more subtle than the Airport Dream, at least :)
