In some small number of hours, Natalie and myself will be getting on the plane to head off across the pond :)

I was going to do a long-winded, introspective yammering about people and their problems, neurosis, issues with my father, and how I used to be a skinny, awkward kid with funny-looking hair and a goofy smile (but now I've lost the hair) and maybe discuss this past weekend with my cousin Matt. Perhaps I would've talked about our different experiences growing up...

... but instead, in keeping with my lethargy that I've been going through today (took two naps, already -- I think I'm recovering from last week's late-night fun in the lab and maybe trying to charge up for the Europe trip) I ended up reading a good chunk of the archives on Something Positive, which is really sort of amusing -- the dialogue is super-acidic and rather witty. That's uncommon for me. I don't normally just go and read most of the archives on a webcomic. By and large, things are going pretty well, although it'll be good to get out and moving, just on our own.

I'm oddly enough already excited about moving back to Tech in the fall... I see good things happening in the future. I see myself being peaceful in my own little cave (and my friends nearby, when I want to see them). I see a billion lines of code put down for exciting CS-specialization classes (and I'm all warmed up for the Linux/iPaq class, thanks to Dr. Baker). I see a billion miles run with Running Wreck. I see three-day weekends, and I see mornings for sleeping (or lifting, if I want) on those MWFs, and I see a relaxed, rested, rejuvenated Rudnick, ready to rumble. Hrum. I see somebody who's possibly an optimist at heart :)

We're going to show up in Paris in about 24 hours. Rock on! We don't have a particular plan for going-places-after-Paris, but I'm thinking Spain and Switzerland, and that works out well because Natalie wants to head into Italy, which is where the Lloydinator will be, so we can hook up with him in Rome, which is a happy happy thought :)

Things are going well :) We'll have some quality sibling-bonding time, I've got Reeves' Programming Linux Games and Mr. Stroustrup to keep me company for when we're not being social or Natalie opts to sleep... it's time to hone those SDL skillZ.

*laughs* We're going to Europe, and I'm excited about the plane ride because I'm going to get time to play with my computer.

Anyway... I may or may not post while I'm out, but I'll be back in two weeks. Peace out, homeslices!!!
