weekend notes
Sep. 15th, 2003 01:36 amIt's been a lovely weekend :)
- Friday, it was absolutely lovely out, and I ran over to Piedmont Park, where there are almost always interesting people and things going on. I found some parts of the park I hadn't seen before (I went pretty much around the perimeter), a playground devoid of children (they would've been in school -- it was about noonish), dogs, people out running, and a woman who, on second glance, wasn't a woman at all. It was just slightly too warm out to be comfortable wearing a hat and a shirt at the same time.
- Cimmy came over for the weekend, and Saturday afternoon, we went to go hang out in the park :) We brought a blanket, stretched out, read (with the intent of getting some homework done) and watched people, and I pulled out the pins and juggled various jugglable objects for a while. There were some kids in the park on Saturday, and one family (with a whole lot of kids) stopped to watch. They tried to give me a dollar afterwards, and I was flattered, but I thought that was kinda strange, so I didn't let them. That, and I didn't want to lose my amateur status. And we watched people going by and playing volleyball and stuff. That was lovely...
For the rest of the weekend, we just kinda generally hung around, looked at things, went to the cheesecake factory (where I found out that my alcohol tolerance is Very Low -- my headache after that kahlua coffee lasted for a rather long time), talked about stuff, and watched American Beauty, which turns out to be an excellent film. Shannon, thanks for implicitly lending us your copy :)
This next week is going to be pretty well intense... so it'd be a good idea to start out well rested. So I'm going to pass out now. Good night.
Ah... and my hair's growing back in. My Jewish skinhead look is on the way out -- it's time for my more traditional Jew-'Fro.
