So the Rudnick said to himself, "my people are confused, directionless, lonely, bored... what can I do to entertain them and give them hope in this life?"

And lo: gossamer gobs of blog flowed forth from his fingertips, and there was a Posting. And it was marginally acceptable, at least.

What have I been doing? I've been hanging around in Tallahassee, sleeping in and staying up late, hanging out with friends (rather a lot of that), running in the forest and lifting, and installing Gentoo on Richard's mother's computer (it's an experiment in making a nicely-usable computer-for-your-mom sort of system with Gentoo -- I think it can be done)

That last bit was entertaining, because it involved spending a pretty substantial amount of time hanging out with Richard, yay :) We plugged that machine into the router here and emerged and emerged and emerged, and it's turned out pretty well. He had this weird onboard video card that didn't autodetect well, and he heroically twiddled with the X config file until the video settings worked well and we got a pretty high-res picture. Go Richard :)

Hrmm... I've seen so many wonderful Tallahassee people in the past week... it's been lovely -- I hung out with Kelsey [livejournal.com profile] mirabiliae and we went to Black Dog and happened to run into Jessica and Alex M and Derick, and we played Scrabble...

And while hanging out at Garrett's house last night, we saw Jeremy and Blake, and Jeremy's juggling is getting to the Obscenely Good level -- he can very comfortably do five balls, and he rolls things around on his face and can do a Mill's Mess variation with four balls, and has all sorts of really bizarre patterns that he can throw, and ... it's super-impressive. And we ate Chinese food, eight of us.

And the nature of Stuff has been discussed with Garrett [livejournal.com profile] lomonthang and Lloyd and Richard and Derick, and there are a few people who weren't there because they're not Tallahassee people, but it would've been interesting to see how they would've reacted to these discussions.

And Marty [livejournal.com profile] samarin is coming to visit a few days before next semester starts -- Friday, he shows up. Yay :)

And I've been running little insignificant errands, rather a large number of them, but you don't want to read about those. And some park rangers are cool and helpful, and some are annoying. Just like other mammals, park rangers can be mean OR totally awesome.

Well. Erm, yeah. This is what I've been doing. Things are pretty calm around here. I'm still low-content happy :) Just a nice Christmas break with the family and the Tallahassee friends.
