"... which would just rawk..."
Mar. 19th, 2004 02:38 amMomentarily disappointing news: I didn't, and won't, get the internship at JHU.
Happy news: Now I get to be in Atlanta for the summer so's I can hang out with (a lot of) you guys, and now I get to seek out Ashwin and get on the Ashwin-does-NLU-research-boat for the summer and then hop a train for Alex-does-a-capstone-project-based-on-working-with-Ashwin-ville in the fall. And I can stretch out taking all five (5) of the remaining (remaining) required classes 'tween now and Spring, get all that done, and have time for Extra Cool Stuff like Cognitive Science and Compilers and Underwater Basket Weaving...
Other happy news: people have a great potential for coolness, and even if I occasionally come across as caustic and/or misanthropic, there's really no frame of reference by which you could say that people are Inherently Bad, so, you know, it's all good :)
I was in sort of an unpleasant mood for much of today, probably largely due to the whole not-going-to-JHU thing, but it was worked through, largely by talking with cool people... cool people, you know who you are.
Flying Biscuit is lovely, even if their coffee isn't that great.
I've been working on a version of Beck's "Already Dead" (which sounds like a really uplifting song, and it is :) ) on the gee-tar, and in the near-ish future, I'll probably have found a nice mixing program and put it together into a nice ogg, perhaps mixed together with a nice trombone line and nice vocals and electronic tappy-tap noises...
*random semi-sleepy pings of happiness*
