Today's been pretty pleasing.
So for whatever reason, I decided to go to my Health class today... but the instructor couldn't get the projector to work, so I was off on a quest, running errands -- turning in homework early, checking mail, and eventually trying to find my way from Skiles over towards Ferst... and for the non-Tech people around, this might not seem like that much of a task, but in today's case, it became a bit of urban exploration because this enormous chunk of the campus, east of the CoC, is covered with this ambiguously-purposed Construction, and has been for a long time. And the fence stretches out in all directions and will eventually engulf all of Atlanta, and no one will be allowed in...
... but I tried to find a way through it all. Oh, I tried. I ended up wandering through both Architecture buildings, Van Leer, and ... uh, the other building that's right there near the CoC... trying to find a way where I wouldn't have to cut all the way around to get towards Ferst. It didn't work out too well, but I ended up getting to my next class with some extra time on my hands, and I was in an exploring mood, so I set out through the Ford EST building, looking for bathrooms and interesting stuff.
You know, this campus has all sorts of interesting public spaces in it that you just never see, because you don't have any particular reason to go there... there's this really nice atrium in the EST, for example (near the bathrooms), courtyards around the other buildings in that area, and a cool new space between the old bookstore area and the stucen and the post office that they finally finished, but I hadn't seen yet...
Lessee... and the physics test didn't seem too bad. I think I got all of them right, actually. Crazy.
And I finally got a meeting scheduled with Ashwin, which is happy. He gets extra cool-points for having a tendency to send email late in the evening and wanting to schedule the meeting At The CoC Coffee Cart.
And kung fu was fun today. We went into the springy-gymnastics-floor room afterwards and played around, being bouncy, which was entertaining. I hadn't done anything so acrobatic for a while...
Perhaps most importantly, this weekend, at The Lab Theatre in Tallahassee, the FSU School Of Theatre is putting on a production of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You, starring Lenoir
dramamamalama in the title role. I'm headed to Tallahassee this weekend, if any of youse would like to come along.
I think there's other stuff... but I don't remember. Can't complain too much. Life is good.
