hanging out and geeking out
Mar. 28th, 2004 03:27 amLife is pretty good, yeah :)
- Yesterday evening, I hung out with my associate Mugdha (she's in Ashok's class), and we ate tasty Thai food and went to go see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (which is An Excellent Film, and you might enjoy seeing it, oh gentle readers), and we talked about languages and cultural differences (and cultural change) and AI and people and animals and stuff, and it was a whole lot of fun :) That, and we successfully managed to navigate from Tech to the theatre where there was a conveniently-timed showing of ESSM, which was way out in the suburbs, and back! Can't go wrong there :)

delamancha came and visited us today (and she brought super-tasty oatmeal-raisin cookies, yay!) in the afternoon, which was lovely, and we hung out and had coffee and sat at the coffee table like civilized adults visiting one another and having coffee :)
- Friday afternoon, I sat out on the Burger Bowl and read some of Scripts Plans Goals and Understanding (NLU text), and it was lovely and sunshiney out. Due to the amazing recovery powers of the human body, my heels are almost to the point where they don't bleed when I put on socks and shoes, so in the near future, I'll be out running again and enjoying the sunshine at high speed...
- Ashwin emailed me back, so now I get to meet with him and set up summer research work and get involved with NLU academia and go to gradschool and Figure Neat Stuff Out And Get Paid For It... or at least, I'm taking steps along this path.
- Today, I was doing math homework (I've been generally pretty productive today), and I didn't want to go through the drudgery of finding the length of the path from vertex D to all the other vertexes (totally brainless homework problem for Combinatorics), uh...
( so I did something disturbingly geeky instead )
That was tremendously satisfying.
Okay, sleep now :)
