Happy June :)
Jun. 1st, 2004 12:56 amAll sorts of interesting stuff happened today...
- I spoke with Lloyd for a good long time, and he's back safely from Italy (yay for getting back safely from transatlantic trips!)... and he's currently doin' his thing up in the 850, givin' shoutouts, bein' all up in the place, droppin' dope tracks... you know how it is. You know how we do. Er... *ahem* ... Yes, and he's coming to visit, on the Thursday that happens after the next one that's about to happen! *dances* Techies rejoice!
- I worked on the webserver some more. Rumours of my being done with the project are greatly exaggerated, although I'm close. It's just tedious parsing (with security checks) and stress-testing and tweaking the thing that's left.
- In the afternoon, I went running, which was lovely. And my little pigtails stayed put, even after like six miles, and it was much less unpleasantly hot than having a big puffy Jew-fro that retains all available heat...
- In the evening, I hung out with Rick and Ross
rheavatarin and we headed over to Piedmont Park for the Jazz festival, and there were like a billion people in the park (and one of them was Marty
samarin, yay!), and frisbees were flying overhead, and I found it hard to maintain a conversation because I kept on getting distracted and running off to snatch them out of the air... but we ran into this girl Elizabeth, who ended up following us around for a while, which was somewhat odd... there are some people that have... something that doesn't quite click right with me, and I find myself getting really distant. It's a defense mechanism. My weirdness level turns up, my humour turns way more obscure, and it's not the normal playful-happy chaos... but it's gotten a lot better, over the past few years. For whatever reason, Elizabeth managed to get that reaction going... eventually, though, Marty and I walked back from the park, leaving everybody else to get dropped off by Ross later.
- The girl who keeps skating past our window, over and over again as if she's doing little circles around the apartment? Her name is Tracy. And she is in fact skating in little circles around the apartment, over and over again, because she needed a change after doing little laps around the parking lot.
