Audacity has fairly nice (if occasionally segfault-prone) filters, and I put some distortion on the guitar... perhaps in the future, I'll approximate the (really cool) keyboard part on the 'bone and mix that in to another version...

So today, I've mostly been hanging around. Lisa pyrona and Richard falun and I had lunch at Top Spice, and I puttered around the house for a while and contemplated my navel, and towards the late afternoon, I walked over to Piedmont Park and skated around for a while and hung out and read and did more navel-contemplation.

Setting aside some quiet time, preferably in the morning before the start of the day's activities, is necessary, especially in modern societies where people are so busy.

I need to see what I can do about that, for the Fall semester. Something deep's got to change, I think. I'm not exactly sure what it is yet... but I'm not quite set up right, and it's gnawing at me. Maybe I got too arrogant somewhere along the line... it'll get figured out...

But tomorrow, I've got a little research meeting (in which my senior project for next semester willl be worked out...) and then it's off to the airport for California-ness. I'm ready to be gone for a little bit... but I'm also almost ready to be ready to be back.

stepping outside for a bit...

I'm still not used to the nights here.

It's bright out tonight -- Atlanta sounds the horn of light pollution out into the infinite, silent, uncaring abyss ... or at least there are a lot of buildings and a lot of street lamps that put out a lot of light. The shadows are sharp-edged, though... it's not like sunlight, which is sort of ambiently everywhere... and a stray raindrop splattered against my face, and the clouds were white, and the winds were whushing past...

Leaves look really cool in streetlights.

And that's all. Now it's time for bed.
