"We're off to see the wizard..."
Nov. 22nd, 2004 12:24 amSo tonight, Whitney
angelheart2307 and I went to audition for DramaTech's spring production of Into the Woods... and it was cool, and everybody involved seemed really friendly, and there are some talented folks at DT.
And everybody sang, for the singing part of the audition, a particular tune from The Wizard of Oz -- I'd been ready to sing a chunk from Anyone Can Whistle ("Everybody Says Don't", for those who know that show, like
dramamamalama) -- but they said, "If you don't have sheet music for the pianist, we'll just all sing the same song"... so everybody auditioning with me did, and it was good. Oddly enough, we got randomly picked to read as Cinderella and her prince -- the bit where she dumps him, which was amusing :)
Callbacks are tomorrow. We'll see what happens...
(update, the next morning: no callback for either of us, but from the email, "If you weren't called back, don't lose hope. You could still be cast. Call backs allow the directors to clarify what they saw during regular auditions. Wait until the final casting is announced." ... so we'll still see what happens.)
(another update, because I just saw his entry on the topic: Tim
neuroticmonk has very big philosophy muscles, and everybody loves him. Last night, we tried very hard to break all sorts of stuff, and he came up with a seemingly viable universal goodness metric. Tim is a beast, and I'm quite sure I'd rather hang out with him than with St. Augustine, whom I still consider a loser.)
