'round these parts...
Nov. 25th, 2004 10:14 amSo yesterday evening, I went and hung out with Lloyd and his sister Jesika and other-Alex (Alex M, whom we all love), and it was beautiful... as soon as I stepped into the house, I was greeted with flying pillows, and a fairly long pillow-fight ensued. Alex had been hiding underneath this enormous mound of pillows on their ridiculously fluffy couch, from which he emerged suddenly...
... so we Talked About Stuff, like we normally do, and it was wonderful. Like a lot of us, Lloyd doesn't know quite what to do on coming to the end of his undergrad education... but it was wonderful to see all of them :) And later on this weekend, we might go see The Motorcycle Diaries, maybe. Or maybe I'll hold off on that.
Today, in the morning, the paternal unit and I hopped off to the annual Turkey Trot. I'd shown up with the intention of running the 5K version (about 3 miles, for the metric-impaired), but I opted to do the 15K instead, because, y'know, why not? So I did, and it was good. I felt pretty frisky; kept it at just under 8-minute pace the whole way, fairly steady. 1 hour, 12 minutes, a bit over nine miles. He did the 5K with one of his friends, and they got it done :) (also at the race were: the entire Newell family, Taylor D, and Mr. Brad C himself -- and he's just started at MIT)
... and that's that! Enjoy your tofurkey, kids!
