So many things. All fairly interesting. All of them Due In Like A Week Or Two.
- finish designing a programming language. A programming language for doing computations about ice cream. (with that Martin
samarin kid and Roland and Daniel...)
- make the poetry generator dealie work...
- rebuild that webapp thinget that I'm supposed to be working on (Janet wants a demo of Beautiful Things by the end of finals week...)
- redesign the music theory learning tool thing... tonight.
The ends of semesters are always a little surreal :)
Also: AskJeeves is actually pretty cool. And they're hiring (and looking for interns). And they had a recruiting talk today, and their recruiting guy is finishing up his PhD here at gatech, right now... and they're like "yeah, we've got like a hundred guys working on search engines and automatic language understanding and picking-out-which-language-that-is..." Apparently algorithms for picking out which language a document is using are like 96-odd percent accurate, and they want to improve them... and I'm thinking, "hey, that's interesting..." Maybe an internship is on the way, if they'd have me. *laughs* And they're doing all of this with like massively parallel C++ programs, which seems somehow comical to me. Watch out, Brett and Google :)
Also maybe Ellen will show up and we can have our group meeting. But I mean everybody knows how she is.
PS Ellen made these ridiculously awesome screenshots (because, I mean, everybody knows how she is). With the Apple Interface Builder thing... so it looks like a real OSX app, because it is :) Compare with my gross old mac app screenshot.
