samarin helped me rebuild the desktop machine. It occurred to me that, aside from some minor tweaks, I've been using pretty much the same hardware since freshman year. It was maybe time for an upgrade. Time to sequence some genomes or simulate hurricanes or something -- now I've got 4 gigs of RAM, a doublewide bus, and a dual-core processor, woo :)
