all a-twitter again
Feb. 22nd, 2009 04:09 pmI'm all a-twitter, but feeling kind of sluggish this weekend. I could be a little under the weather, or maybe just tired. (we've been crunching pretty hard at work, and it's wearing on me. I slept most of yesterday.)
I've been doing some unicycling. And I think I want to scale back the tai chi and focus more on running, because I really love running. And to get better at a thing, I should spend more time focusing on that thing.
Also: I've been looking at some code that I wrote for my masters project. Research at Tech continues, and they wanted help! (I'll do pretty much anything for shared paper authorship, and a practical machine learning problem is its own excuse.) The code is recognizably mine, but it's pretty crufty and very soon it's going to be in alexr-of-2009 shape instead of rushed-alexr-of-2007 shape. It's amazing what a few years in industry will do for your design sense.
Oh yeah -- and I'm headed over to Bloomington on Tuesday night, for the official Campus Visit Thing on Wednesday and Thursday. And in August, I'm probably going to take the Theory and Systems quals, because that's what you do at IU. Hrm. It'll be time to brush up on thinking about automata and virtual memory very soon.
