back from Bloomington!
May. 26th, 2009 01:58 amThis afternoon, I drove back from Bloomington. It took a little more than eight hours, door to door.
Lindsey and I had a really great time, though! We looked at places to live, and may have one picked out. We went running. We hung out with Bloomington friends. We made some music! We're going to have to rock out all the time, once we live together.
Out on a run, I tried to return a ball to some small schoolchildren. It had gone over the fence, and they looked really happy when I went to pick it up, but one of the little girls wasn't looking when I tossed it, and it bonked her square on the head. She was momentarily surprised, but I think she'll be okay.
I'm pumped about the next few months. It's time to do stuff and learn new things.
I want to write a program to help you think of that word that you wish you could remember, or maybe suggest a good place to use it in text that you're writing, as you write. I was trying to remember "callipygian" this weekend. A year or two ago, I forgot the word "parsimonious" several times, so I wrote it on a sheet of notebook paper and taped it above my monitor, but this approach really doesn't scale for all the words I'd like to remember.
Tomorrow, I'm headed out again. This time, I'm going to the Yay Area, for a whirlwind tour in which I'll see Martin
samarin and Lauryn, go to Google I/O, maybe visit the main GOffice, and then head over for my cousin's Bar Mitzvah. Very exciting!
